Creative Matters - Black History Month

Theatre Street,

A deeply personal project (Bell was born of Caribbean parents and grew up in foster care), the exhibition explores Britain's relationship with West Africa and the Caribbean, alongside symbolism associated with the 'Roots' of Caribbean identity, and ongoing narratives of the African Diaspora.

Part of 2018 Creative Matters - Black British Identity. Creative Matters 2018 features a series of events across our three venues that celebrate what it means to be Black British today. These events are presented as part of, and supported by, Black History Month.
