A Norman cathedral from 1096 - with 14th C. roof bosses depicting bible scenes from Adam and Eve to the Day of Judgement, a Saxon Bishop's Throne and the largest monastic cloisters in England. England's second highest spire. Pre-booked group guided tours of the cathedral and cloister run all year between 1000-1600. They are available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish - please book at least two months in advance. Ask about our special rates in our award-winning Refectory (hot lunches, snacks, teas, coffees and home-made cakes). Visit our shop in the Nave for CDs, toys, books and souvenirs.

OPENING TIMES: All year, for groups - Monday to Friday 0900-1700.
SUGGESTED LENGTH OF VISIT: 45 minutes to 1 hour.
