Kentwell Hall School Tudor Days - an interactive, immersive event.

Address

Long Melford,
Sudbury,
Suffolk,
CO10 9BA

Details

Kentwell Hall, one of England’s finest Tudor houses, was a finalist for the School Travel Awards 2017/2018 - Best Heritage Venue - and Kentwell’s Re-Creations of everyday Tudor Life celebrate their 40th year this year and they continue to be the fore-runner of Historic Re-Creations and also Learning Outside the Classroom with the introduction of Nature and Trail walks.

What makes the Kentwell Re-Creation experience so unique is that it is a totally immersive, interactive and ‘hands on’ day with over 100 costumed Tudors, and Schools can spend up to up to four hours on their visit. The excitement of their trip begins before they even arrive, as Kentwell encourages ‘everyone’ to come dressed in simple period type clothes.

Kentwell Hall’s Living History days are suitable for KS1, KS2 and for older pupils; as one child once said “it’s like becoming part of a story” and one of our best quotes from a teacher “Kentwell is a brilliant trip . . . the re-creation teaches the children more in a day than I can in the classroom all term”.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by staff and shown to the start of your journey and given a map of all the activities and areas to visit during a normal working day in 1538; don’t forget to change your money in to Tudor coins as there is no return to the 21st century until you leave.
