Details

Kentwell Hall’s garden and grounds extend to over 30 acres and are a combination of ancient features, elements of the substantial alterations of Lady Guthrie, tenant during the 1930s, and the more recent landscaping and planting by Kentwell’s current owners.

The Walled Garden still retains the shape of it's early origins but greater elements of the 17th century in its layout. The 16th and 17th century periods are accentuated by the additions of a large Herb Garden and a Potage. In addition there are over 60 varieties of apples trees and almost as many Pear trees.

Some of the Yews and Cedar Trees are of great age, others are more recent planting. Clipping ancient ones, some 50 ft. high into geometric shapes, whilst some of the modern ones are shown in the Pied Piper Topiary scene.

One area that is not to be missed is the Cedar Lawn with its Sculptured Tree on the theme of the ‘Tower of Babel’ and is one of the largest single wood carvings in the UK today.

Other area’s to wonder, relax and enjoy are;

The Sunken Garden
The Yew Castle
HAHA Wall.
Wildlife Pond
Front Lawns - with their blanket of Snowdrops
Ice House
