Amazona Zoo Celebrates Ten Years with a Teddy Bears Picnic in June

Amazona Zoo in Cromer, will be celebrating its tenth anniversary on Saturday 23rd June 2018 by hosting a fun-filled Teddy Bear’s Picnic event from 10am to 5pm.

SEA LIFE Pirates at Great Yarrrmouth

Sea Life Great Yarrrrrmouth will be overrun by pirates this Easter as visitors explore the ocean and become a Sea Life Pirate. From Thursday 29th March visitors are invited to sword fight their way through the ocean, follow a Treasure trail, count up hidden treasure and get closer than ever before to over 1,500 creatures of the world’s oceans.

New Baby Camel Born at Banham Zoo

Debate amongst the zookeepers at Banham Zoo was concluded last week when Lucy, one of the zoos domestic Bactrian camels, gave birth to a strapping male calf. She was closely monitored by her keepers after going into labour during the afternoon of 19th March, eventually giving birth that evening.

Rare Mangabey Baby Monkey Born at Africa Alive!

A rare mangabey monkey has been born at Africa Alive! near Lowestoft. This primate is endemic to the Democratic Republic of the Congo where it can be found south of the Congo River. Very little is known about this species in the wild, however, whilst information on its population status is limited, it appears to be very patchily distributed across its range, and with major threats including hunting (both for meat and the pet trade) and the risk from localised habitat loss, the population is decreasing and it is thought to be endangered.
