Hospice Children Enjoy Close Encounters With Sea Creatures

A close encounter with creatures of the deep brought smiles to the faces of four children from the East Anglia Children’s Hospice when they visited Great Yarmouth Sea Life Centre.
Together with their familes and three EACH staff members, the youngsters from the Quidenham-based hospice were given their Sea Life treat care of the charity Merlin’s Magic Wand.

Issued with goodie bags on arrival, they enjoyed a tour and a private ‘rockpool session,’ where they were delighted to inspect crabs, starfish and other hardy shoreline critters at close quarters.

“We took a mobile rockpool to the hospice a while ago, and the children enjoyed it so much we arranged for those who could to come and meet the rest of our residents,” said Sea Life’s Maxine Culleton.

“Seeing the joy on their faces with every new spectacle that greeted them made it all worthwhile.”
